Checking the power connections and remote control are the first steps to rule out simple issues. Then, we progressed to checking for more complex malfunctions with the garage door opener. Very soon we discovered that the opener logic board got fried and was out of commission. We installed a new opener logic board from LiftMaster. A model that matched that customer’s opener and would allow for reprogramming to work with the existing remote control. Thus, nothing but the garage door opener board needed to be replaced.
